Location: Longhua Temple, Shanghai
Tour Lead: Mr. Shen Peimao
Participants: Panda Education international students
On 21 June 2025, Panda Education successfully organized ahalf-day cultural excursion for our international students. Guided by the knowledgeable Mr. Shen Peimao, students from various countries immersed
themselves in the history and culture of Shanghai's Longhua Temple from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
During the visit, the group explored key temple structures including the Hall of Heavenly Kings and the Grand Hall (Mahavira Hall). Mr. Shen provided engaging bilingual commentary (Chinese and English), explaining
the temple's remarkable history spanning over 1,500 years, its distinctive architectural features, and the core principles of Buddhism.
At midday, students experienced an essential aspect of temple culture: a vegetarian lunch at the temple's renowned vegetarian restaurant. This offered a direct and enjoyable way ("tasting Buddhism") to
appreciate traditional Chinese Buddhist dietary customs.

To conclude the enriching experience, Panda Education presented each participant with a commemorative gift – a beautiful and auspicious agate bracelet.
This immersive activity served dual purposes: it provided international students with firsthand insight into traditional Chinese religious culture and fostered a practical platform for cross-cultural exchange. Participant feedback highlighted the effectiveness of the combined approach – "informative commentary + unique experience + tangible keepsake" – describing it as both enjoyable and highly beneficial for understanding Chinese culture.
At Panda Education, all student events are free of charge!
