Free Seminar on HSK 3.0 – Event Report

· News

On Saturday, 22 August 2026, Panda Education hosted a free seminar on HSK 3.0 at our Jing‘an campus. The event attracted a number of current students, primarily Japanese learners, who came together to gain a deeper understanding of the upcoming changes to the HSK examination system.

We were honoured to have Dr. Zhu Qianwen – Teaching Specialist at Panda Education and a faculty member from East China Normal University‘s Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language programme – as our guest speaker. Dr. Zhu provided a detailed explanation of the key differences between HSK 2.0 and the new HSK 3.0 framework.

Key topics covered included:

  • Revised level structure: upgrading from the current six‑level system to a new “Three Stages, Nine Levels” framework
  • Expanded vocabulary requirements: increasing from approximately 5,000 words to 11,000 words
  • Enhanced test content: moving beyond listening and reading to include speaking, writing, and translation (at higher levels)

Participants appreciated the clarity of the presentation, with comments such as “Now I really understand the differences” and “This has helped me rethink my study plan.”

The seminar also served as an important reminder that the deadline for HSK 2.0 examinations is 31 October 2026, after which the system will fully transition to HSK 3.0.

Panda Education will continue to offer HSK preparation courses and learning support events. For updates, please follow our official website and social media channels.
