After one night of wind and showers,

How many are the fallen flowers?

emotions and implicit way

It looks the poem described a small picture of spring's morning. The first two sentences are realistic and the last two sentences are fiction. But through words "not awake" "birds crying", we feel that the poet thinks that the the delightful spring is too short. And through the word "fallen flowers", we do believed poet's pains and heartbroken. The extend meaning is that all the beautiful thing is not stable and can not keep for a long time. Poet hasn't written any words about the pains from his heart, but we can feel it. That's the way for Chinese to express our emotions.

confucius and emotion control

For emotions, the traditional Chinese scholar bureaucrats always follow the regulations of introverted and implicit.

The Analects of Confucius mentioned that a perfect officer means when he was promoted or demoted, no happy or unhappy emotion would be showed on his face.

In the Northern Song Dynasty, Fan Zhongyan's peerless famous articles put forward more: Not pleased by external gains, not saddened by personal losses.

Emotional leakage is a congenital and natural phenomenon. Therefore, Confucianism believes that if you want to improve yourself, you must go against the natural rule. If a person can't even control his emotions, how can he succeed?

In reality, if you can avoid to show your emotions on your face.  Then, you can also make others invisible, and maintain a sense of mystery and your own dignity.
