At Panda Education, we believe language learning goes beyond the classroom. That’s why we’ve designed a series of free cultural experiences for our current students—giving you the chance to step out, explore, and truly feel China with your own hands.
Each activity comes with a special gift. Spots are limited, so sign up early!
March – Make Your Own Sweet Green Rice Balls (Qingtuan)
For Qingming Festival, learn to make traditional qingtuan—sweet green rice balls filled with red bean or salted egg yolk. You’ll knead the dough with real mugwort juice and taste the flavors of spring.

April – Nanxiang Ancient Town Day Trip
Wander through the historic thousand-year-old town of Nanxiang , visit the classical Guyi Garden, and taste the legendary Nanxiang xiaolongbao (soup dumplings).

May – Half-Day Trip to Qinciyangdian Temple
Explore one of Shanghai’s oldest Taoist temples, hidden among the skyscrapers of Lujiazui. Enjoy a bowl of Taoist five-element noodles , and take in a unique view of the modern skyline from an ancient rooftop.

June – Make Zongzi for the Dragon Boat Festival
Wrap your own zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) with bamboo leaves, filled with pork or red bean paste. Steam them and enjoy the aroma of the season.

August – HSKK Prep Talk
Get ready for the HSKK speaking test with tips from experienced teachers. Learn exam strategies, practice with mock interviews, and walk in with confidence.

September – Make Snowy Mooncakes
This Mid-Autumn Festival, skip the oven and make snowy mooncakes —soft, chewy, and no baking required! Fill them with sweet cream or red bean, and press them into cute molds.

October – Intro to Traditional Chinese Wellness
Learn simple ways to stay healthy using TCM wisdom. Brew your own herbal tea, try acupressure, and make a herbal sachet.

November – Half-Day Trip at Jade Buddha Temple
Escape the city noise and visit Jade Buddha Temple. See the stunning jade Buddha statue, try your hand at calligraphy copying, and enjoy a bowl of vegetarian noodles.

December – Write Spring Festival Couplets
