Green dumpling, also known as Qingtuan, is a traditional festival food associated with the Qingming Festival. This festival marks the beginning of spring and is a time for people to honor their ancestors.
The unique green color of the dumpling comes from the use of green mung bean paste or other green vegetable juices, which not only gives it its distinctive hue but also adds a refreshing flavor. Inside, the dumpling is typically filled with red bean paste, a sweet and delectable complement to the green exterior.
